Aidan...yes he was really this chubby once!

This photo was taken in July 2003, months after Bob's brother Mike was deployed with the first wave of soldiers to Iraq. We were so proud of him and his sacrifice, as well as his family's. His wife Heidi had two small children at home for the several months he was gone — it must've been so hard on her. Bob's mom has seen two of her sons go to Iraq in three deployments — his little brother Daniel served two in the Army. As with many wars, there has been endless controversy over this one — but I hope that does not dim the respect we owe our troops. They have won us and countless others around the globe the freedom we enjoy today. Happy Memorial Day!!
