The Best Part of My Job:
-Getting to be a Mom (despite some really, really bad days)
-Seeing your husband's (or your) eyes on your newborn baby.
-Dreaming about being a Grandma someday (on those really, really bad days.
-Knowing your child loves you "all the way up to Jesus" (despite the aforementioned really, really bad days).
-Mom friends you can hang at the park with.
-Knowing that you're doing something right when your child shows generosity, kindness, love and all that other good stuff.
-The secret pride you feel when you see that your child is headstrong, fiercely defensive of those they love...even those blatant displays of audacity that make you roll your eyes.
-The opportunity to help your children reach their potential.
This Mother's Day, Bob made me anything I wanted for breakfast...I picked waffles. So, his first question? "Where's the waffle mix?" I informed him that there was no waffle mix and he could find a super easy waffle recipe in my waffle cookbook. "What waffle cookbook?" When I showed him the cookbook (that I've had about 12 years), he went to work. Bob is not a cook. He does not bake. That doesn't mean that he never cooks, but his repertoire is quite limited. They turned out perfectly!!! He topped it off with a sweet bunch of daisies from him and the kids.
After church, we headed over to my Mom's for a home cooked meal by my brothers and sister. We had our favorite chicken, watermelon and cantaloupe salad, followed by ice cream. We rounded out the evening with rockband...it was a fun and yummy Mother's Day!
