The Wallace Visit: Firefly Catchin'

California does not have such a thing as fireflies. I remember coming to Independence, MO when I was 8 for a visit and seeing fireflies for the first time, and I have to admit that it is quite magical to see their little green lights blinking in the dusk. The Wallace kids thought they were pretty cool, and every night the kids were on the hunt.

Sorry for the photo quality...it was on my camera phone with low light. But the kids are all holding jars with fireflies.

Just take a moment and look at all these crazy kids. I think in these photos, they caught a preying mantis.
