halloween, part II

after aidan's class party, we headed over to our friend sue's for a special halloween playgroup party. we had lunch and made the cute crafts sue had prepared for us. afterwards, we had cupcakes in the park. the stevens family was in town halloween weekend, and mia and aidan were loving their time with aidyn and avery. unfortunately, my camera died at the end of aidan's class party, so i couldn't get any photos of the playgroup party. i'll post photos if i can get my hands on some.

for the main event, we gathered at a friend's neighborhood and trick or treated in a big group. the kids had an absolute BLAST. it was a little chaotic, and we had a few minutes when we lost the boys, but all in all, it was great. afterwards, we went to applebees and enjoyed some yummy ice cream sundaes.

saturday was a great day. the weather this fall has been glorious, warm, sunny and the scenery has been picture perfect with all the fall colors. we took a trip to the zoo, knowing that there may not be too many days left this year with good weather. amy still had her zoo membership, so she and avery joined us. they had scheduled pumpkin feedings for several animals, so we parked ourselves in front of the tiger cage in the hopes of some violent pumpkin maulings. from my vantage point (i could barely see), i heard some growling and kids yelling, "bite it! eat it!" i don't think the tiger was all that impressed by it, although it was a bit of a novelty. the meercats were fun to watch, and the river otters were a little bored after some initial investigating.

we take a photo on this elephant on every trip to the zoo.

amy and i are already planning the wedding...

jack is so proud of what a big boy he is...

meercats and a jack o' lantern...what could be more fun?

good times on the carousel

the stevens were heading back to texas on sunday, so we had them and thorups over for lunch after church. it was such a gorgeous day (and our little house was busting at the seams), so we went to the park in our neighborhood.

Ahhh, I can barely look at these without tearing up. I just did my blog entry for the weekend and I had to watch the slide show over and over and over and over again. We had so much fun and it was so great to spend time with ya. The picture of Aidyn and Avery is beyond adorable!!! Send me the zoo pix!!!
