Gah. Who knew Jack, almost 16 months, would've picked such a cliched word to be the one word he uses for EVERYTHING? Here are some examples of a typical conversation between us:
Mom: "Jack, are you hungry?"
Jack: "Gah."
Dad: "Are you stinky Jack?"
Jack: "Gah."
Mom: "Jack, what are your hopes and dreams?"
Jack: "Gah. Gah."
The word is usually accompanied by pointing, smiling or crying, depending on the context. Although he says "Da" and "Ma," we were worried that "gah" would be Jack's sole member of his vocabulary. Then, the other day, a breakthrough. In the store, Jack pointed to a box of Golden Grahams with a race car on it, and said: "Cah." Leave it to a Wallace boy to make an effort for a car.
