stuff we like to do, volume one: the zoo

some of my most favorite memories of the zoo were with my family. i remember my dad taking me to the L.A. and San Diego zoos, and those crazy wax gorillas i always wanted when we left. he always indulged me, and every once in a while i'll smell hot wax, and it will take me back. we've been members of the friends of the zoo in kc since aidan was a baby, and take advantage of that $65 membership every chance we get. even though it's small and it's no san diego zoo, it's our zoo, and we love it!

the meerkats are my faves, although the new north american river otters are super fun...when they're awake. we usually only hit half the zoo each visit...just africa is enough for one day. here's some photos of our most recent trip a couple weeks ago, and some from over the years...
